Occupation+ Data Filters are available to CollegeAPP+ Partners.

CollegeAPP+ provides occupational data on about 20% of the US population. While the data varies across the US, this occupational data provides insight for program-specific marketing and institutional and program research. There are 9 different occupation categories.

Military Job: This section includes data from CollegeAPP occupation resource partners. It Includes individuals with a small selection of military titled positions.

Near Base: This section includes many, but not all military bases around the country. The radius is 15 miles from the base and identifies those that live within that radius near “company towns” around the country. Does not include high density populations like San Diego.  These company town locations often include individuals that are military adjacent, military affiliated, veterans or retired military adjacent individuals. 

On Base: This section includes those that reside on a military base. This section includes nationwide military bases, composed of custom shapes for each of those military bases in the country at the time of the data release.

Formerly On Base: This section includes individuals that have recently moved off of a military base.

VA Home Loans: This section includes a household characteristic that identifies homes that have utilized a VA home loan. VA Home loan eligibility includes active-duty service members, veterans and certain surviving spouses.

Veteran in Household: This section includes a household characteristic that identifies homes where a Veteran is assumed to reside. Please note that the median age for this section is 70.
