CAEL Partners with CollegeAPP to Provide Certified Training in Digital Marketing for Recruitment and Enrollment

Six-week professional development class to be available on CAEL Platform with Credly-Endorsed Digital Badge.

[La Canada Flintridge, CA]: CAEL, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping adult learners navigate the pathways between education and employment, is partnering with CollegeAPP to train current and future generations of enrollment and marketing professionals. The initiative focuses on equipping them to better understand the complex and ever-changing landscape of digital advertising to adult learners and workers. The professional development course will be offered through CAEL's learning management platform, and information can be found on CAEL’s professional development page.

“Increasing adult learner enrollment is a top concern for our members,” said CAEL President Earl Buford. “This will make a great complement to our existing professional development and training and the many other ways we help our members build their capacity to support adult learners and workers.”

The course, Adult Learners are not Unicorns! Create a Disciplined and Successful Adult Learner Recruitment Strategy, is an asynchronous set of modules designed to simplify and demystify digital marketing. “There’s a lot of lingo and so-called best practices out there,” said Sean Godlewski, head of CollegeAPP’s digital marketing services group. “CAEL’s asked us to help colleges and universities make sense of it so that they can approach marketing to adult learners with a deep understanding of the landscape.”

The course will not focus on any one potential solution or service, but rather on the knowledge and skills needed to make informed, confident decisions about how best to identify and reach adults. “There are so many approaches whether it's persona building, behavioral targeting, descriptive and predictive analytics.  It can be overwhelming,” said CollegeAPP president Jack MacKenzie. “This training will be designed so that college marketers can access a toolbox of techniques to make smart-day-to-day decisions.”

CAEL and CollegeAPP are promising the following learning outcomes from the class:

  • Make data-informed decisions in marketing campaigns.

  • Ask relevant questions of data and media platforms to gain deeper insights for crafting successful marketing campaigns.

  • Formulate, adjust, and direct marketing campaigns based on data analytics and enrollment goals.

  • Understand the pros and cons of first-, second-, and third-party data.

  • Learn the history and trajectory of data use and privacy rules and regulations.

“We're so excited to add this timely course to our current professional development offerings,” said Jeannie McCarron, CAEL Vice President of Member Engagement. “We survey members each year to determine what topics are most important to them, and our suite of courses continues to grow as our member needs evolve. Working with CollegeAPP makes perfect sense at the perfect time!”
